TERMS AND CONDITIONS

1. ABOUT THIS WEBSITE

By using our website, you fully accept these terms. Completing a reservation with RentCarsCrete.gr means that you have agreed and accepted all the terms of our site. We have the right to modify these terms at any time.

RentCarsCrete.gr is committed to ensuring that the information you provide while making a reservation is secured.

The customer commits to not allow any person to drive the vehicle beyond the persons appearing as drivers in the Rental Agreement signed. In any other case he will be held liable for any damage to the vehicle or to third parties in such case.

In case of delayed return, another rental day is charged. The company reserves the right -depending on the availability- to provide a different type of car from the original booking with another one similar or a better class.

2. DRIVER’S LICENSE

The driver must hold a driving license for at least one year. The license must be Greek, European (for EU countries), or International (for non-EU countries).
Please note that the International Driving License must be accompanied by the local license, and the renter is responsible for ensuring that their documents are valid in Greece.

3. RECEIPT / RETURN

The delivery and return of vehicles takes place at any port, airport, or city in Crete by prior arrangement. The company reserves the right to cancel a reservation after a one-hour delay at pickup if no communication has been received from the customer.

4. GEOGRAPHICAL LIMITATIONS

Transportation outside of Crete is not allowed (300€ fee).

5. REQUIRED DOCUMENTS

Upon receipt of the car it is necessary to present a Driver’s License, Passport or Identity card.

6. DRIVER’S AGE

The tenant and driver must be 23 – 70 years of age. The driver must hold a license for at least one year. (15€/day young/senior fee)

7. MINIMUM RENT

The minimum rental is 1 hour, which is defined as 1 (one) day’s rental.

8. CANCELLATION POLICY

Cancelation fee is 0%. Cancel anytime — no extra charges.

9. RETURN OF THE VEHICLE

The tenant must return the vehicle to the agreed location and date as specified in the Rental Agreement. If the vehicle is returned to a different location additional costs apply and must be arranged in advance. Vehicles must be returned with the same fuel level as at the time of rental. If returned with less fuel, a fee of 15€ plus the cost of the missing fuel will be charged.

Modifications of drop-off must take place at least 24 hours before the initial scheduled date and time.

10. GENERAL CONDITIONS FOR RENTING A CAR

Customers pick up the rented vehicle as it is described in the Rental Agreement, in perfect working condition, with all its documents, tires, wheels, crystal/glasses, tools, and accessories, and undertake the obligation to take care of it and return it in the same condition as received. Furthermore, customers must respect and drive according to the Highway Code (KOK) applicable in Greece.

By signing the Rental Agreement, customers accept the rental terms and conditions as defined by RentCarsCrete.gr.

In case of an accident, the tenant is obliged to immediately inform RentCarsCrete.gr and to immediately notify the Traffic Police and the Insurance Company.

11. WAYS OF PAYMENT

We accept payments by credit cards, debit cards (Visa and Mastercard, Maestro, Masterpass) and in cash.

12. SPECIAL EQUIPMENT AND ADDITIONAL BENEFITS

Child seats are available upon request for all ages according to weight. Due to insurance policy, it is the tenant’s obligation to place the seat in the car.

Note: Seat standards may differ in other countries.

13. VEHICLE CLEANING

The vehicle must be returned in a suitable state of cleanliness to allow for inspection upon collection. If the cleanliness of the vehicle upon return prevents an external inspection, an additional charge of €20 will be applied upon car delivery.

During the vehicle inspection, if it is found that the driver or passengers have smoked inside the vehicle, if the terms for transporting pets have not been followed, if the vehicle interior is dirty or stained with residues such as sand, sunscreen oils, salty seawater, etc., an additional cleaning charge of €150 will be applied for the biological cleaning of the vehicle interior.

14. ANIMALS & PETS

Animals or pets are not allowed inside our cars. The only way to be allowed, is to use special boxes, such as those used in airplanes.

15. KEY LOSS/ROAD ASSISTANCE

In case of the loss of a key, the tenant must immediately inform RentalCarsCrete.gr in order to get a spare key. Additional charge: 150€ + Transportation cost (calculated based on mileage)

16. FINES AND VIOLATIONS

Administrative Sanctions resulting from traffic violations committed during the rental period of the car are fully borne by the tenant and the company must be informed immediately. If the company receives fines related to traffic code violations, an additional charge equal to the amount of the fine + €15 (administrative expenses) will be charged. In case of license plate removal by authorities, a penalty of €200 will be applied.

17. USE OF THE VEHICLE BY THE TENANT

The customer expressly agrees to the following:

Keep the vehicle in good condition
Respect the Traffic Code
Do not violate traffic lights or the STOP signal
Respect the speed limits
Do not drive off-road or on a dirt road (eg Balos beach). Failure to comply with this rule will result in a €350 charge upon return.
Do not drive under the influence of alcohol or any other substances
Do not use the vehicle to tow another vehicle
Do not perform activities for the purpose of subletting the vehicle
Do not use the vehicle to participate in competitions or sports, either formal or informal
Lock the car properly, in a suitable, appropriate and safe place when not in use
Do not provide as collateral, pledge, sell, lease, assign, mortgage, lend or even change or convert any part of the vehicle
Stop the car immediately in case of the slightest external or internal indication of technical weakness
Mechanical damages caused by negligence or improper use of the vehicle remain the responsibility of the customer. Examples include: Using the wrong fuel, Failing to apply the handbrake on steep slopes, driving at excessive speeds or sudden braking, Ignoring warning lights on the dashboard, Overloading the vehicle, Improper use of the manual or automatic transmission. This list is not exhaustive

19. INSURANCE

1- The Basic package includes third-party liability insurance, which is the minimum required insurance according to Greek legislation (Law 489/1976), necessary for a vehicle to circulate on the Greek road network. The customer is responsible for all damages during the rental period.

2- The Premium package includes:
· Super cover No Excess
· Theft coverage
· Fire coverage
· Personal accident insurance
· Third-party liability insurance
· Towing and vehicle replacement in case of mechanical damage
· Additional driver at no charge, provided the second driver is between 25-75 years old.

Costs for processing claims: regardless of coverage: 35€

Regardless of the coverage you have chosen, a deposit is required to cover the deductible. The amount depends on the driver’s age, the vehicle category, and the coverage selected.

ACCIDENT/INCIDENT
In case of an accident/incident, the client is obligated to immediately inform RentCarsCrete.gr so that the insurance company can come to record the damages at the exact location.
The renter must also contact the police authorities or the insurance and provide RentCarsCrete.gr with the official report from the authorities.
Failure to comply with this procedure will result in the total cost of the damage being attributed to the client.

In case the responsibility of the renter or the declared drivers is involved, the cost will be up to the amount of the excess /deductible (only with the Premium Package)(except for violations of the Traffic Code, such as driving under the influence of alcohol, drugs, etc., where the total cost will be charged).

20. GOVERNING LAW – JURISDICTION

The terms of the agreement are governed by the Greek laws, based on which these terms are also interpreted. For the resolution and settlement of any dispute arising from the interpretation or/and enforcement/implementation hereof, the Courts of Heraklion shall have exclusive jurisdiction.
